Karin Christina Scholz:
Master of Business, Personal Coach, Psychological Life - and Business Consultant, I grew up in both Germany and California/ USA and have wide experience in tourism and intercultural fields. I have been  arranging big conferences in France, running a sailing school office in Italy and assisting the Director of Human Resources in the European Headquarters of a big American Company. I was co-founder of a company offering Mountain Bike Tours throughout Europe, responsible for the planning and implementing of the tours and events including hotel bookings, route planning, customer service, marketing,  finance etc.

In 2003 I sold my half of the company to use the time to concentrate on being further educated in psychology, personal therapy such as  constellation work (personality-, family- and business constellation work), systemical structural work, kinesiologie, energetic work and spirituality in daily life and business. In addition I organized workshops and coached people facing personal difficulties as well as occupational retrainees.
In September 07 my son and I moved to Hurghada / Egypt, a country which offers a great variety of adventures, insights and cultural highlights. For me, this is one of the most precious experiences of my life. My daily encounters integrate new views and perspectives, personal values change and my understanding of `life` develops into a new direction.
Here, I now want to share my experiences with you and offer my services to all interested. My aim is to help people help themselves. Since everybody follows his own path in life, my job can only be to help see the personal path more clearly.

Lecture:  An Introduction to Aura-Soma ~ colour healing for the soul.
Friday, October 31, 3-4 pm

Aura-Soma is a spiritually inspired approach to colour healing used to promote holistic well-being, energetic balance, to gain personal insights and a renewed appreciation of your potentials on your life’s path.
The energies of the plant and mineral kingdom are combined in a mentsrum of oil and water to produce radiant colour reflecting light in small glass bottles, known as “Equilibrium”. We are drawn to the colours we need to create balance in our lives ~ and as Vicky Wall – the creator of this soul healing system says – ‘we are the colours we choose’.  The combination of colour and light with the plant and mineral kingdom is extremely potent and has a beneficial effect on our subtle energy fields. The language of colour is universal and speaks to us all through our subconscious influencing our emotions and health on all levels of our being ~ Aura-Soma has a philosophy of subtle anatomy and colour.

Workshop: Know Your Colour, Saturday, November 1, 2-3 pm

Colour is a powerful healing gift of the Universe contained in white light and sent to us daily through the sun’s rays as electro magnetic energy. Each colour its own vibrational frequency and therefore interacts with our personal energies in very individual ways.
This workshop is designed as a creative interaction wherein we will access our individual personal colours for harmonic balance and gain an understanding of their significance and possibilities. Using the mediums of Aura-Soma, and other expressions of colour combined with meditative experience we will explore some of the unconscious messages conveyed to us through radiant colour.

Workshop: Rising out of the Dark Night of the Soul, Thursday, October 30, 4-6 pm
The Dark Night of the Soul is referred to by many spiritual traditions throughout the world. It is a phrase use to describe when a person on their spiritual journey hits rock bottom- when they feel spiritually empty and alone- as if they have been abandoned by God. During this workshop we will explore how individuals can use their own dark nights as a catalyst for moving into their greater yet to be. Through a visioning process, dialoging, and other exercises; individuals will find ways to connect with spirit in a deeper way. It is in these times when great learning, insight, clarity, understanding and wisdom occur. The workshop will end with a step by step process that assists individuals in how to rise up out of the darkness.
Kathrin Schmidt:
Kathrin works as a praktioner for Shin Tai and is an assistant for education in Shin Tai. She started her healingcarrier after high school with the education to become a nurse, but she realized soon that there had to be more opportiunities to help and treat other people. Searching for her appeal she tried different studies and travels, finding Shin-Tai healing as her spiritual path and also, discovering how much Egypt feels like home, she’s visited many times over these past few years, most recently in 2007 when she and Veronika Mager presented a 2-week Shin Tai course in Cairo.s

Kathrin Schmidt offers mini-Shin Tai-sessions of about half an hour on each day of the festival.
Shin Tai is natural energy healing, translated it means ‘spring of life.’ The base is Traditional Chinese Medicine with the circle of the five elements and the principle of ying and yang. Shin Tai was created by Saul Goodman, an American who developed the classification and treatment of the Central Channel, which is the heart . Moreover it´s a complex system of different therapies for example: Shiatsu, Chi Nei Tsang (Thailand organ massage), Cranio-Sacral-therapyt, Chakra balance, Magnetic field and many more. The sessions work by priority, that means to find out by Kinesiololgy which technique is the best to release the energy block of that moment, the aim is to let your life-energy (Chi) flow around your body without beeing blocked. During a session you relax and reactivate your self-healing powers, afterwards you feel re-energized and powerful and at ease.

Workshop: Voice Healing through Vowel Sounds, Friday, October 31, 11 am-1pm
First there was sound, and then sounds formed a language of understanding. Grunts, groans meaning this or that passed down from human to human through time. Later sounds, now words, joined together for phrases of descriptions, directions, affections and warnings amongst others. All languages stemmed from a common place later diverted to a personalize language based on area, later culture
There are sounds available to open mind, body and spirit to define the balance or dis-balance within your body. I use “5 Sounds” to receive information and to communicate information between myself and my clients which I have successfully done for the past 6 years.
These “5 Sounds” are related to all five elements. How we use this technique to access emotions unique to us as beings allows mental, emotional, physical and spiritual awareness enabling healing through an arrangement of these 5 unique sounds.

“Sound is timeless and attracts emotion – emotion gives to sound.” LCH   Knowing this we are able to use the sounding combinations to release, remove and resolve issues.
Gender is also a consideration. Elemental gender can help to convey sounds for specific a healing.

This experiential workshop allows you to open and understand the basis of this technique and see it actualised within the workshop with the people present. You need not have a musical voice as the sounds are not based in this area. Please bring a notebook to write the information down in and be comfortably dressed to be able to receive and give sounds.
See LadyColleen.com or 99StepsCenter.com
or email thecairocenter@hotmail.com for further information on this form of healing or for information on other forms of C.A.M therapies.

Abdul Hayy:
As one of the first persons to organize homeopathic training in Egypt (see History of Homeopathy in Egypt), it has been his stated goal to spread homeopathy in Egypt at the grassroots level in order to create public demand for quality homeopathic treatment. To a large extent this approach has succeeded in producing a large number of qualified homeopaths over the past 5 years and made the

Egyptian public increasingly aware of this complementary treatment modality. In cooperation with other qualified Egyptian homeopaths, he was instrumental in helping to found the Egyptian Society of Homeopathy and the courses he currently teaches are endorsed by the Society as providing the kind of professional training required by international bodies in the field of homeopathy. He is also interested in laying the groundwork for a greater awareness of homeopathy in the Arab world and lectured in Lebanon, where he initiated the move to a training program, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia

Abdul Hayy is a dynamic and demanding teacher (see Student Testimonials) who sets very high standards for the teaching of homeopathy at the professional level. He is very interested in incorporating a clearer concept of consciousness and the notions of self (and Self) into the homeopathic discipline and how this impacts on our whole notion of what needs to be healed. He also practices Voice Dialogue as a means of therapy.
Abdul Hayy is married and has three children. In his other incarnations works full time as Associate Chair of the Department of Rhetoric and Composition at the American University in Cairo and teaches a course called "Who am I?: Self and Consciousness Across the Disciplines." He also is very much interested in Sufism, studies in religion and consciousness, lectures regularly on a wide variety of topics including Hayy ibn Yaqzan, Dream interpretation, and Voice Dialogue and the different concepts of self. Lecture: Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Special Needs Children, Friday, October 31, 4-5pm

Complementary medicine (CAM) is a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently considered to be part of conventional medicine. Complementary medicine is used together with conventional medicine. Alternative medicine is used in place of conventional medicine.
Why do we approach complementary Medicine?

Prevention is key to good health. Taking steps to better your health before you get sick is the best way to keep yourself healthy.
Your body has the ability to heal itself. Alternative medicine practitioners see themselves as facilitators. To them, your body does the healing work, and treatment encourages your natural healing processes.
Examples of CAM can include  acupuncture, massage, aromatherapy, herbal medicines, nutritional supplements, chiropractic.

The demand for CAM in children has increased tremendously in recent years. Approximately 20% - 40% of healthy children and more than 50% of children with chronic, recurrent and incurable conditions use complementary therapies, almost always in conjunction with mainstream care, according to worldwide statistical records.
In this lecture, I am going to highlight the different modalities of complementary medicine I do apply in my practice in the field of Children with Special Needs. At the Centre, directed by Professor Ghada Eldory, Professor of Paediatrics, Child Studies Institute, Ain Sham University, I manage the Complementary medicine Department, where Children with different medical problems such as autism, autistics and ADHD are referred. Many parents are now oriented to seek complementary modalities to help their children. In my practice, I apply acupuncture and aromatherapy as effective CAM modalities. Our work is always in conjunction with conventional medicine. Actually, CAM modalities are cost –effective, safe modalities when properly applied by a medical practitioner to the properly selected child, avoiding lots of side effects and promoting a healthy life style for these children.
